Ortho-K Instructions

 

 

 

Applying lenses

 

  1. Wash your hands with soap that is lotion/fragrance free.
  2. Remove one lens from lens case and place 2 drops of rewetting solution into “bowl” of OK lens.
  3. Apply the OK lens directly to the cornea and gently close the eye.
  4. Repeat for the other eye.
  5. Empty the case of any solution, rinse and dry.  Do not store open lens case in bathroom.
  6. If you need to open your eyes after applying OK lenses, open them slightly while looking down.

 

Removing lenses:

  1. Place fingers on lower and upper lid at lash line and apply gentle pressure with the plunger on the center of the OK lens.
  2. Remove OK lens with OK lens plunger using an upward tilting motion on the lens (downward motion of plunger handle).
  3. Gently clean the lens in the palm of the hand using Boston Simplus solution.
  4.  Place OK lens in clean, empty lens case, then add fresh Boston Simplus solution to cover OK lens.
     

Follow Up Appointments

1 day                  Visual acuity and eye health assessed.

1 week                Visual acuity, eye health and lens fit are evaluated.

1 month              Visual acuity, eye health, lens fit and lens condition are evaluated.

3 months            Visual acuity and eye health are evaluated.  Lens cleaning in office.

6 months            Visual acuity and eye health are evaluated.  Lens cleaning in office.

 

 

Additional visits may be required to maximize vision and eye health.  Bring your lenses each visit and keep all scheduled appointments to maximize your vision.

 

 

  • DO NOT wear your Ortho-K lenses if your vision is blurry, your eye is irritated or red.  Call and schedule an evaluation of your lenses and eyes.

 

  • Bring your OK lenses in every 3 months for cleaning to ensure healthy eyes and clear vision.
